Heat Pump Vacuum Evaporator

Overview

Heat pump vacuum evaporators provide an energy-efficient solution for reducing industrial wastewater volumes, recovering water and concentrating process liquids. Using electrical energy and operating under vacuum, the system lowers the boiling temperature of the liquid, allowing evaporation to take place at reduced temperatures.

The range is suitable for industrial applications where wastewater disposal costs, water consumption or the concentration of process liquids are important considerations. Depending on the characteristics of the liquid and the required treatment capacity, different heat pump evaporator configurations are available to optimise the evaporation and concentration process.

Eurovacuum works with customers to assess the liquid to be treated, daily processing requirement and desired concentration or water recovery objective. From this information, we can help select the appropriate heat pump vacuum evaporator and configuration for the application.

Technical Features

Title Content
Low Temperature Vacuum Evaporation Operating under vacuum reduces the boiling temperature of the liquid, enabling evaporation at lower temperatures than atmospheric systems.
Electrical Heat Pump Technology Uses electrical energy to recover and transfer heat within the process, reducing reliance on external steam or other thermal energy sources.
Wastewater Volume Reduction Reduces the quantity of concentrated liquid that may require further treatment, recovery or disposal.
Water Recovery Produces a distillate that may be suitable for reuse or further treatment, depending on the application.
Automatic Operation & Control Available with automatic anti-foam dosing, quick-opening boiler door, 24-hour unmanned operation and Siemens PLC control with touch panel.

Typical Applications:

Heat pump vacuum evaporators can be used across a wide range of industrial processes where wastewater volumes need to be reduced, water recovered or process liquids concentrated.

Typical applications include:

  • Metal finishing and surface treatment – treatment and concentration of rinse waters and process effluents from cleaning, plating and surface-treatment operations.
  • Machining and engineering – treatment of wastewater associated with component washing, degreasing and other manufacturing processes.
  • Chemical processing – concentration of process solutions and reduction of liquid waste streams where vacuum evaporation is suitable for the chemistry involved.
  • Food and beverage processing – concentration or water removal from suitable process liquids, particularly where lower processing temperatures are beneficial.
  • Pharmaceutical and specialist manufacturing – evaporation of suitable temperature-sensitive process liquids under reduced pressure.
  • Wastewater treatment – reduction of wastewater volumes prior to disposal or further treatment, with the potential to recover distillate for reuse where its quality permits.
  • Resource recovery – concentration of process streams where valuable materials may potentially be recovered from the concentrated residue.

Every wastewater stream is different. Eurovacuum can work with you to assess the liquid composition, daily wastewater volume, existing treatment process and required outcome before recommending an evaporator configuration.
