Inlet Filter for Air Blowers

A robust cartridge inlet filter designed to protect air blowers from airborne dust and contaminants, helping maintain clean airflow and reliable blower performance. Available with connection sizes from 1″ to 4″ as standard, the FAT range provides airflow capacities from 85 to 1,400 m³/h.

A choice of filter media is available, including paper, polyester, stainless steel, separator and activated carbon, allowing the filtration to be matched to the application. Each unit includes a PVC connection spool and is 100% safety tested before and after painting.

Protecting Your Blower and Maintaining Clean Airflow

Inlet filtration is an important part of any air blower installation. Air drawn into a blower can contain dust, fibres and other airborne particles which, over time, can contaminate internal components, increase wear and reduce system reliability.

Our industrial inlet filters for air blowers are designed to remove these contaminants before they enter the blower, providing effective equipment protection while maintaining low restriction to the incoming airflow.

Why Inlet Filtration Matters

Blowers can move significant volumes of ambient air during continuous operation. Even when the surrounding environment appears relatively clean, this air can carry fine particulate that accumulates inside the blower.

An appropriately sized inlet filter provides a first line of defence, helping to reduce contamination of the blower, protect internal components and support reliable long-term operation.

Correct sizing is particularly important. An undersized or heavily contaminated filter can create excessive inlet restriction, potentially reducing available airflow and increasing the load on the blower. Filter selection should therefore consider both the required airflow and the expected level of contamination.

Filtration to Suit the Environment

Different operating environments require different filtration solutions. Available filter media can include paper and polyester elements, together with specialist configurations for more demanding applications.

The IVACO FAT range also provides options including stainless-steel media, separator elements and activated carbon, allowing filtration to be adapted to different process requirements.

Replaceable cartridge elements make routine servicing straightforward, allowing the filtration performance of the system to be maintained without replacing the complete filter housing.

Suitable for a Wide Range of Blower Sizes

Filters are available in a range of connection sizes and airflow capacities to suit both compact and larger industrial blower installations.

The FAT cartridge range, for example, covers nominal capacities from 85 to 1,400 m³/h, with threaded connections from 1″ to 4″. The manufacturer’s data also states that larger filters can be designed for flows of up to 4,000 m³/h on request.

Selecting the Correct Inlet Filter

The correct filter should be selected according to the blower inlet connection, required airflow, operating environment and filtration requirement. Particular attention should be given to pressure drop so that adequate filtration is achieved without unnecessarily restricting blower performance.

For dusty environments or continuous-duty applications, filter condition should form part of routine system maintenance and the element should be cleaned or replaced when required.
